Biography

Vivek Oberoi, born Vivek Anand Oberoi, is a prominent Indian film actor known for his impactful performances in Hindi cinema. He is the son of veteran Bollywood actor Suresh Oberoi and has earned significant acclaim throughout his career, winning two Filmfare Awards from five nominations.

Oberoi made his mark in the film industry with his debut in the critically acclaimed movie Company (2002), directed by Ram Gopal Varma, where his portrayal garnered him the Filmfare Awards for Best Male Debut and Best Supporting Actor. He further solidified his status with standout roles in the romantic drama Saathiya (2002), the comedy Masti (2004), the horror film Kaal (2005), and the biographical action film Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007).

Beyond acting, Vivek Oberoi is dedicated to philanthropy. He received the Good Samaritan Award from Rotary International for his involvement with Project Hope and was honored with the Red and White Bravery Award in 2006 for his efforts in rebuilding a tsunami-hit village. He serves as the World Health Organization's anti-tobacco spokesperson and has supported various initiatives like Project Devi and the Cancer Patients Aid Association. Additionally, he has appeared in stage performances and served as a talent judge on the reality show India's Best Dramebaaz. An advocate for vegetarianism, he has made PETA's list of Sexiest Vegetarians multiple times and is also the founder of KARRM Infrastructures.
