Puneet Issar
Biography
Puneet Issar is a prominent Indian actor and director, best known for his memorable portrayal of Duryodhana in the iconic television series Mahabharat, which aired from 1988 to 1990. His impressive career also includes directing the action drama Garv: Pride and Honour in 2004, featuring Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Additionally, he gained recognition for his performances in the critically acclaimed war film Border, released in 1997 and directed by J. P. Dutta, and his role in the cult classic horror movie Purana Mandir, which premiered in 1983.
Issar's journey in the film industry began with the 1983 blockbuster Coolie, where he was involved in a serious on-set accident that nearly cost the life of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. This incident led to significant controversy and backlash within the industry, but Issar persevered in his career.
In 2014, Puneet Issar further expanded his public profile by participating in the eighth season of the popular Indian reality show Bigg Boss, which aired until 2015. Through his various roles and directorial ventures, Issar has established a lasting legacy in Indian cinema, showcasing his versatility as both an actor and a filmmaker.
