Diego Abatantuono was born in Milan, Italy, to a father hailing from Apulia and a mother from Como. His mother played a significant role in the performing arts as a wardrobe assistant at the Derby, a renowned jazz and cabaret venue owned by his uncle. It was at this vibrant club that Diego began his career, initially taking on a role in lighting before transitioning to artistic director and ultimately becoming an actor.
