She gained fame through her enchanting partnerships with notable co-stars such as Maurice Chevalier in films like *Love Me Tonight* and *The Merry Widow*, as well as with Nelson Eddy in classics such as *Naughty Marietta*, *Rose-Marie*, and *Maytime*. Over her illustrious career, MacDonald appeared in 29 feature films during the 1930s and 1940s, with four of these receiving nominations for the prestigious Best Picture Oscar: *The Love Parade*, *One Hour with You*, *Naughty Marietta*, and *San Francisco*.
