Thalaivasal Vijay, originally named A. R. Vijaykumar, is a prominent actor and dubbing artist in the Tamil film industry. Known for his compelling character portrayals, he gained considerable acclaim for his role as Narayana Guru in R. Sukumaran's 2010 Malayalam film, *Yugapurushan*. In addition to his work in Tamil cinema, Vijay has also made appearances in Telugu films and various television commercials, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

Before making his cinematic debut, Vijay honed his craft in television, featuring in the Doordarshan serial *Neelamala*. His entry into the film industry came with the 1992 movie *Thalaivaasal*, which marked not only his first film but also the directorial debut of Selva. It was this film that led to his adoption of the moniker "Thalaivasal," signifying his association with a significant cinematic work.
