Susan Shaw Yam-Yam, originally hailing from Hong Kong, embarked on a journey that took her to Taiwan in her youth, where she pursued a nursing education for five years. Her early career saw her working as a nurse aboard a ship, which allowed her to explore 23 different countries. After her travels, she returned to Hong Kong, where she initially showcased her musical talents in a nightclub, adopting the stage name Xiaoyin.
