Biography

Basil Joseph is a prominent Indian filmmaker and actor recognized for his contributions to the Malayalam cinema. He embarked on his cinematic journey as an assistant director alongside Vineeth Sreenivasan in the 2013 project Thira. Basil's directorial prowess became evident with his first feature film, Kunjiramayanam, released in 2015, which was followed by the successful Godha in 2017 and the highly acclaimed Minnal Murali in 2021. Each of these films garnered both commercial success and critical acclaim, solidifying his reputation in the industry.

In addition to his directorial achievements, Basil has made a mark as an actor. He made his acting debut in the 2013 film Up & Down: Mukalil Oralundu, directed by T.K. Rajeev Kumar. Since then, he has taken on various supporting roles in numerous Malayalam films, earning particular praise for his performance in Joji (2021).
