The local priest, convinced they are communist dissidents fleeing government oppression from student protests in Mexico City, incites the townspeople against them. What begins as a simple adventure spirals into a terrifying struggle for survival as the students find themselves targeted by a mob. Drawing inspiration from real events, Canoa: A Shameful Memory explores themes of fear and hysteria in a tightly-knit community.
