Set against the backdrop of 1941, Pai finds herself shunned by her family after a divorce from her wealthy husband. Mrs. Hsu, a well-meaning matchmaker, offers Pai a lifeline by taking her to Hong Kong under the pretense of hiring her as a nanny. However, Mrs. Hsu's true intention is to connect Pai with Fan. Although they initially connect, Fan’s hesitance to commit strains their budding romance.
